Our Team

KHW wants to offer the best possible program for our members. We researched and discovered which professions are the most effective when it comes to overall wellness.

Armed with new and inspiring information, we created our team of experts.

Below are the details as to why we chose these professions and how they will impact your healthy living habits for the future.

Registered Dietitian vs Nutritionist:

While there are amazing Nutritionists out there, becoming a Nutritionist does not offer any kind of regulating system. In other words, there is no base or rating system to know the quality of education and expertise you will be getting. Also, there are online programs that if you simply take their test, you can be certified as a Nutritionist with little to know knowledge of eating well.

A Registered Dietitian:

Is an expert in dietetics; (human nutrition) and the regulation of diet. A dietitian alters their patient's nutrition based upon their medical condition and individual needs. Dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals licensed to assess, diagnose, and treat nutritional problems.

A registered dietitian (RD) is someone who meets all of a set of special academic and professional requirements, including:

  • Complete a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at a US regionally accredited university or college and course work accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Complete an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program at a health-care facility, community agency, or a food service corporation or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies. Typically, a practice program will run 6 to 12 months in length.
  • Pass a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration.

You can see for yourself why we chose to go with a Registered Dietitian vs a Nutritionist.

When it comes to food and meals, we set the bar at the highest of levels.

Cook with In The Kitchens:

Your knowledge of quality food will increase making it possible for you to enjoy eating out, going to parties, vacations, BBQ's by the pool or just a nice home cooked meal. We went the extra mile for you and hired an entire company to help increase your cooking knowledge.  Not only will In The Kitchens teach you how to prepare your own food, you will get to explore new ways to mix and match great tasting food so you can get the results you want.

Doctor of Psychology:

This is a huge aspect of healthy living that many organization miss out on, but is one of the most important areas to address.

When you understand why you eat the way you do, your habits, emotions, triggers and how your history impacts your desire to make changes, you can own them and truly make adjustments in the direction you seek. Your body can't do anything without your mind behind it.

Massage Therapist:

Everyone gets tired. Everyone has soreness. Everyone has stress in their lives. Massage is one of the best ways to relieve the pressures of your life and take care of your body. Yes, moving and playing is a must when it comes to a healthy, happy body and mind, but it's equally important to stop, relax, regroup and enjoy the moment. Massage is not just good for your muscles, but also anxiety, digestive disorders, Fibromyalgia, headaches, insomnia related to stress, Myofascial Pain Syndrome, soft tissues strains and injuries, sports injuries, joint pain, and more. With all of these wellness benefits, it was vital to add a Massage Therapist to our team of professionals.

Meditation Practitioner:

If you talk to most people that are successful in life, you will discover that many of them meditate to help slow down their thought process, focus and breathe. We have learned that in order to truly be healthy you need to take time for yourself, get in the moment and recognize all that you have and are. As a quick example just take a deep breath in and say “I am healthy.” Exhale and say, “I am happy.” When you do say these phrases smile and repeat only 3 full cycles. Now ask yourself how do you feel? 3 minutes of meditation all on it's own can change your life. Kessler's Healthy Way recognized this practice as part of the balance necessary to achieve total wellness so we searched for a specialist in meditation to help guide you and make our team even more effective.

Adventure Specialist/Personal Trainer:

Gyms, boot camps, etc. are great, but we feel that it is important to learn how to move and have fun in your daily living as well. Yes, there will be gym time, but by offering an Adventure Specialist/Personal Trainer to our team your eyes will be opened to all different types of movement such as martial arts, dancing, hiking, Tai Chi, yoga, walks in the park, snow boarding, roller skating, trampoline jumping, paddle boarding, rock climbing and more. All of these activities will get results and are a BLAST! But wait, there's more! Part of playing and taking care of body and mind is pampering yourself too. How does relaxing pool side or heading over to a spa sound?

Most people associate getting fit with hard work and sweat, but it does not have to be that way. Imagine getting trim with a smile on your face, having fun with a group of people and getting the results you wish. All of these aspects can be accomplished when canoeing on Lake Mead or spelunking at Red Rock.
